Parklands Gold Coast Show Kicks Off
The Gold Coast Show kicked off for the last time at Parklands since the show began in the 1980s.
There were many fun rides for all age groups, including the Hurricane, which has been one of the favourite rides since it was introduced in 1989 at Parklands. Other old favourites include the swinging chairs, the Super Slide and the Dodgem cars.
New attractions such as riding Zorb balls on water is quickly gaining popularity. The show also opened its newest ride called Super Jet, which is a mini-rollercoaster.
Paul Hennessy, who operated rides for 35 years, said that visitors and tourists at the Gold Coast Show ranged from children aged nine to older people aged 90.
Hennessy also said that it was sad to hold the show for the very last time at Parklands, but not knowing where the show will go next was even more difficult. Nevertheless, the Gold Coast show will kick off again at its new location.
