RSPCA Cupcake Day 2013
Cupcake Day for the RSPCA 2013 is a fundraising event that helps to fight animal cruelty and support animal care.
The event involves participant registration, baking cupcakes and then selling these to raise funds for the cause. Money raised can help in saving animal lives, rescuing those in danger, finding them a home, and providing for emergency surgeries.
In 2012, $1.6 million in funds was raised and the RSPCA aims to beat that amount this year. A lot of people registered to give their support.
A Gold Coast resort was one of the supporters and hosted a Cupcake Day Party. The cupcakes were baked by Joel Helot, a French Pastry Chef, and other staff. Each cupcake sold for $2 and came in a variety of flavours – chocolate, red velvet, passion fruit and berry strawberry. This helped to raise more than $100. The resort team also donated pet food and blankets to the RSPCA.
